Nature of Business
Gecamines is a state owned mining and exploration enterprise that has control over most of the DRC’s mining activities. It currently has several joint ventures with foerign investors over extensions of the Zambian Copperbelt in the south. Gecamines was at one stage one of the world’s largest producers of cobalt.
